The design of this crib allows it to grow with your baby. It can convert into one of three major modes of use:
- Crib
- Toddler Bed
- Day Bed
We’ll break down each type of bed and its use below:

Crib
In this mode, all the safety bars are up ensuring that your child is safely tucked away. Typically, children will be able to climb over the crib rail by 18-24 months of age (see article). In this mode – you can adjust the mattress to 4 different height positions to suit your needs. Typically, you’ll start with the highest setting for ease of use. As your child grows taller and is more active – you’ll want to lower the mattress to better provide safety as they sit up and roll around.
You want to ensure that the crib is as bare as possible in order to help prevent SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Purchase the accompanying waterproof mattress for the bed fit in order to ensure there is a little space between the mattress and side as possible. Too much space between the mattress and railing can contribute to potential SIDS.
Toddler Bed
This mode drops the bed height to its lowest setting and removes most of one side of the bed. This means that from all but one direction, there will be safety bars for your toddler. The side that the toddler can climb in and out of will still have a low safety rail in case they roll around during their sleep. This is a good mode for when you’re starting to have them climb in and out by themselves.
Day Bed
This mode is just like the toddler mode, but now completely removes one side of the rails. So, your children will still have safety bars on all but 3 sides. This is a good choice for when your child is making that transition into a large twin bed. However, this mode is serviceable as a standard bed for your child. The main difference between a daybed and a twin bed are the bars themselves, which allow your child to sit upright and do activities such as reading or watching television.
